Meet The Band
Half Dollar Rodeo isn’t your typical Southern Rock band. Blending modern country, rock, soul, blues, punk, and alternative, their sound delivers an emotional roller coaster—from heartfelt ballads to in-your-face rock ’n’ roll—with a few well-timed laughs along the way.
Formed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 2024, the band draws from a wide range of influences that come together as one cohesive and unmistakable sound. You can hear echoes of artists like Southall, Treaty Oak Revival, and Whiskey Myers, alongside Jason Isbell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, and even Dr. Dre.
Frontman Tyler Flathau channels his roots in Southern Rock, Country, and Red Dirt into a songwriting style that’s both raw and reflective. Lead guitarist Carson Mars pairs expressive playing with a knack for storytelling, delivering both emotional depth and sharp wit on stage. Rhythm guitarist Zach Biglane drives the band forward with powerful, memorable riffs, while bassist Jake Biglane lays down funky, groove-heavy lines that get crowds moving. Behind it all, drummer Colten Yates keeps things locked in, effortlessly shifting between laid-back pocket grooves and high-energy rock.
The term “Y’allternative” has been thrown around to describe their sound, but Half Dollar Rodeo refuses to be boxed in. Their music doesn’t neatly fit into a genre. It’s a sound built on contrast, grit, and groove; impossible to pin down, but easy to feel.
